Namport 30 Fun Run and Fitness Challenge 09 November 2024
Thank you to all the Runners who supported this amazing charity event. 200.000 Namibian dollars were raised in aid of the Walvis Bay Kids Haven. The weather played along and all runners had a lovely morning. Walvis Bay was definitely showing her best side.

Backyars Ultra World Championships 19 October 2024
Six Walvis Bay Road Runners were invited to participate in the satellite Backyard Ultra World Team Championships - and they delivered! Each runner set a new distance record for themselves. Special congratulations go to Erich Goeieman, the runner-up for the Namibian Title. Congratulations to Swakop Strider Andre Ross - he has won all three Namibian Brandberg Backyard Ultras and took the well deserved win at this event as well. It was very well organised and the runners would like to thank the volunteers who came out, cheered them on, and pushed them to new heights.

Seaworks Coastal Classic 21/22 September 2024
The annual Seaworks Coastal Classic 2024 took place on 21/22 September in Swakopmund - and the Road Runners showed up and dominated the roads. Some club members even took part on both days, the Gravel Grinder on 21 September and the Road Rage on 22 September. Husab Marathon 2024

Congratulations to all finishers of the annual Husab Half or Full Marathon! The popular event took place on 07 September and we are very proud of you all, especially Bettie, Werner, Louise and Elmarie. Next year, we will all do it again hopefully! Click here for more pictures.
Tour De Narraville 2024/ Lorenzo Memorial Run
Lorenzo was a beloved member of the Walvis Bay Road Runners and he is dearly missed by all club members. He suddenly past away after a short illness earlier this year. The Road Runners showed up in strong numbers to pay him and his loved one respect. Lorenzo - you will always be one of us.

Brandburg Backyard Ultra 03/04 August 2024
For the third time, some of Namibia's finest runners lined up to compete at the annual Brandberg Backyard Ultra. The Road Runners showed up in strong numbers, and we congratulate Erich Goeieman for placing 4th, after 18 gruesome loops of 6.7km. Next year, we will definitely take part again. Two Walvis Bay Road Runners Participated in the Red Run in Windhoek. The altitude and hills in Windhoek are a challenge for us coastal runners. Congratulations, Berno and Eveline!
Bank Windhoek Walvis Bay Run 22 June 2024
Great turnout at the Bank Windhoek Run in Walvis Bay! The road runners showed up in full force and enjoyed the run very much. Running is just so much more fun in a group!
Comrades Marathon UP Run 10 June 2024
Congratulations to our six Walvis Bay Road Runners who finished the Comrades Marathon Up Run 2024!
It was the first Comrades for novices Milton, Naude and Katja, the 4th Comrades for Michelle, and the 11th and 14th Comrades for green number holders Eliza and Werner. We are so proud of you for conquering 85.9km of nonstop up- and downhill running, well done!
SPCA Charity Run Swakopmund, 25 May 2024
The Walvis Bay Road Runners showed strong support for the SPCA Tierschutzverein Charity Run on 25 May. In spite of hot East weather and a late starting time, many new personal records were achieved. Congratulations!
Goanikontes Club Run 01 May 2024

About 30 coastal runners celebrated labour day by getting up extra early to brave the hills and heat at Goanikontes. A water station was set up at the rest camp, and all runners chose their own distance and pace. There is only one road in each direction, and it was nice to bump into other club members along the way. We even saw some of the amazing runners who are currently Racing the Planet in Namibia!

In 21 years of running together, we have accumulated a lot of pictures of our most amazing club runs. Some of them are so long ago, we cannot even remember when or by whom they were taken!
Sanlam Marathon 27 April 2024
The Walvis Bay Road Runners showed up in full force at the annual Sanlam Marathon in Swakopmund! Runners could choose between 5, 10, 21 and 42km distance. Thank you to all the people who came out and showed their support at the start and finish line and along the road. Conditions were perfect and we saw some amazing new Personal Bests, congratulations!
Two Oceans Marathon, 13/14 April 2024, Cape Town
31 Walvis Bay Road Runners participated in the annual Two Oceans Marathon. 6 Road Runners completed the 56km ultra distance, and 25 Road Runners completed half marathon distance - one of them while pushing a wheel chair.

Rossing Marathon, 09 March 2024, Swakopmund
Most Road Runners completed the annual Rossing Half or Full Marathon. The weather was great and many runners achieved new PBs (Personal Bests). Some of Namibia's finest runners were also on the road and showed off their amazing talent.

The Walvis Bay Road Runners gave it their all, and came home with three bronze medals! Congratulations to Milton and Elmarie for placing third for the full Marathon, and Rozanne for placing third in the half Marathon division. We are very proud of you.

Batman Marathon 2024
The Road Runners showed up in strong numbers for the Batman, one of the very few Namibian qualifiers for the upcoming Two Oceans Marathon and Comrades Ultra. It was also Road Runner Lorenzo's last run before his untimely passing several days later, and we will forever remember his infectious enthusiasm and support for fellow runners. May you rest in peace.
Froggy Run 2023
The Froggy or Eggy Run is broken up in three parts. The day started with the longest leg (21, 14 or 7 km), at lunch time we did the second leg (10.5, 7 or 3.5km), and in the evening, we finished with the third and last leg (5, 3.5 or 1.6km). Everybody got to choose their own total distance and pace, and we all appreciated the fantastic weather.
Goanikontes Training Run 02 March 2024
In preparation for upcoming events, some club members braved the steep hills at Goanikontes to get some much needed hill training in. Training runs at Goani are always great fun. Everybody runs their own distance and their own pace, and afterwards we come together and complain about the heat and steep hills!

Werner, Michelle, Eliza, Sonja and Kobus represented the Road Runners at the 2022 Comrades Down run. Congratulations to Eliza for receiving her green number for her 10th successful participation in the Ultimate Human Race!
